A vibrant cherry-red in colour. Aromas of blackcurrants, raspberries and plums abound. In the mouth, light and soft with a forward acidity leading to a spicy finish displaying further summer red fruit flavours. This is not a 'keeper' and is made for early drinking.

The David family have been making wine in the Loire since 1634, making Sebastien 15th generation winemaker. The 15-hectare domaine is situated at Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and only Cabernet Franc is grown, mainly from vines planted by Sebastien's parent shortly after the end of the 2nd World War, but also from vines planted in the 1930's. The vines grow on limestone and clay soils with a little gravel - ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Franc. All is biodynamic at the estate, hand-harvesting is employed and the wines are fermented with natural yeasts and contain no added sulphur. This delicious red is aged in clay amphora and is pressed by the traditional foulage method (i.e. by foot). Hurluberlu translates into 'crank' or 'eccentric', much like Sebastien himself!
