A shout out for this delightful bistro in Chepstow.I really want to give a shout out to this lovely bistro in Chepstow. My friends and I attended a Champagne tasting evening on Friday. It consisted of several short presentations by the hostess, who is not only French but also trained in the ways of champagne production. Four champagnes were drunk (much more than just a taste) and discussed, with humour and audience participation. We learned so much. Optional at an extra cost was the 4 course French taster menu, which was served at a relaxed pace (not a criticism, this was done the French way), and was deliciously tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly, helpful and confident, and I would most certainly dine there again.

The bistro must be 30 covers + occupying a large room with bar, tastefully decorated. The food range is truly impressive with starters, main courses and desserts, with platters of food also offered . Chris & Fabien the charming French owners have employed a French chef. I have tried most of the main courses from Crab risotto to Coq au Vin to Boeuf Bourguignon, all truly excellent, very much enjoyed also able to choose some decent wine to accompany the dish choice from low £20 to whatever. Main course about £15 a head and usually we end up with a cheese platter to share. All portions are big, so no need to eat for rest of day . Been there nearly a dozen times, always great food, ambiance and French style - could imagine yourself in a Bordeaux bistro.

Good selection of wines across a range of styles and prices. I had excellent help in selecting some bottles from the description of the type of wine i generally like. The assistance i got was very helpful, not pushy on price and most importantly non-patronising. I recommend it, if you need a nice bottle or two and are in the area.

An absolute must visit gem of a restaurantI visited this restaurant with four friends on a racing trip . What an absolute find it was . A wine cellar to excite any oenaphile and a menu as true to its French roots as it was superbly cooked . Any visit to Chepstow should have this superb eatery on the list

Popped in for dinner at this welcoming French Bistro. The owners are lovely, the food is delicious, we are learning French so they kindly obliged and spoke slowly to help us practise! If you are in Chepstow this is a must visit. A little bit of France in Wales.
